Beaver Island State Park
Description - Located along the shores of the Niagara River, Beaver Island State Park is approximately 9 miles north of Buffalo off Interstate 190. This recreation mecca is a popular day use destination. Year-round amenities attract thousands each year to the golf course, multi-use trails, swimming beach and hunting grounds.

Attractions - Located in northwestern New York, Beaver Island State Park offers a variety of outdoor choices including play areas for both children and adults, multi-use trails, winter sports, fishing and an 18-hole, 72 par golf course. The park does not offer a clubhouse but does have power carts available, a pro shop, club rentals and a driving range.

Recreation - Folks visiting Beaver Island State Park enjoy a variety of recreations including a wonderful 18-hole golf course, bike and nature trails, children's playground, picnic grove and play fields. Winter visitors enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and ice fishing.

The signature golf hole is the 4th hole, par 5 - 470 yards with water on one side and hardwood on the other. Motorized cart fee for 9 holes is $12 and for 18 holes, $20. Club rental is available. The park also offers clinics, driving range, lessons, practice green, pro shop and snack bar. The green fees for 18 holes during the weekday run $17 and on weekends $21. The course is a par 74 with yardage of 6,201. Championship par is 72 and championship yardage is 6,779.

Climate - The Beaver Island State Park area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 inches to approximately 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.

Location - Located along the shores of the Niagara River, Beaver Island State Park is approximately 9 miles north of Buffalo off Interstate 190. Take South Parkway to reach the park.
