Cedar Island State Park
Description - Visitors looking for a remote quiet park will enjoy Cedar Island State Park. Both picnicking and camping are offered at this park which encompasses approximately half of the island. A public boat launching facility is located in the town of Chippewa Bay and the park has a boat dock. Fishing opportunities are excellent. Waterfowl hunting is permitted in season.

Attractions - Cedar Island State Park encompasses half of the island. The park is favored by people who appreciate quiet boating, fishing and beautiful scenery. The park's campsites are located in a fairly thin woods with a day use area and picnic pavilion nearby.

Recreation - Visitors to Cedar Island enjoy camping, fishing, picnicking and waterfowl hunting. A boat dock is offered.

Climate - The Cedar Island area has a varied climate with average January temperatures ranging from below 14 degrees reaching to 22 degrees Fahrenheit (below -10 to -6 degrees Celsius). Summer temperatures average between 72 degrees and below 68 degrees Fahrenheit (22 to below 20 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 to 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.

Location - Cedar Island State Park rests on Cedar Island in Chippewa Bay, near Hammond. Accessible only by boat. A public boat launch is available in the Village of Chippewa Bay.

Report: We recently stayed at cedar island with 16 friends and it was the best camping we ever have done. It is wonderful there and the grounds keeper whose name is"mark" was very pleasant and helpful. I highly recomend it to anyone. Be back next year!
