Description - Darien Lakes State Park offers many day use and overnight facilities. The multi-use trails are especially popular and available year-round. Summer swimming and winter snowmobiling are just two of the many forms of recreation enjoyed at this northwestern New York park. Summer visitors will find picnic shelters and campsites for rent while winter visitors will find wonderful snow-covered trails and a cozy heated building.

Darien Lakes State Park
- Darien Lakes State Park's terrain is hilly with woodlands, ravines, streams and 12-acre Harlow Lake. The park has a total of 158 campsites (45 electrified and 113 non-electric) with heated comfort stations and showers, a sandy beach, playgrounds, fishing for largemouth black bass, hiking and horseback riding trails, picnic areas and a rustic bridge over the lake channel to Picnic Island. In winter, multiple-use trails are open for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling and a maintained and heated building for an outdoor skating rink. Darien also has two reservable shelters at a fee of $35 to $65.
Recreation - Darien Lakes State Park offers a number of recreation opportunities including a swimming beach, bike trail, equestrian trail, hiking trail, fishing, hunting, picnic shelters, picnic grove, children's playground, recreation program, tent and RV sites, showers, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice skating. Deer and small game hunting is permitted in season with a park permit. The park is open all year. Campsites are available on weekends all year and daily from June to October.
Nearby Darien Lake Theme Park offers nearly 100 attractions including roller coasters, water slides, live performances, children's petting zoo and swimming area.
Climate - The Darien Lakes area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region averages less than 36 inches of rain and snowmelt.
