Description - Located along SR 5, 27 miles south of Buffalo, Evangola State Park offers a beautiful sandy shoreline that is very popular with swimmers. Play fields, tennis courts, campsites and picnicking opportunities are bonuses at this visual-rich park.

Evangola State Park
- Evangola State Park's major attraction is its beautiful arc-shaped shoreline and natural sand beach on Lake Erie. Low cliffs of Angola shale line the edge of the beach. In addition to swimming, the park has picnic facilities, baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts and 80 campsites. The camping season begins in mid-April and ends in mid-October.
Recreation - Visitors to this beautiful park enjoy the sandy beach, biking trails, fishing opportunities, hiking paths, picnic pavilions, play fields, a children's playground, a nature trail, showers and the many tent and RV sites. Winter sports include snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Pheasant and small game hunting are allowed during pheasant season.
Climate - The Evangola State Park area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 inches to approximately 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.
Evangola State Park is located 27 miles south of Buffalo along the shores of Lake Erie. The park may be accessed from Shore Road off SR 5.
