Description - Located about 25 miles west of Rochester, Hamlin Beach State Park offers wonderful views of the expansive Lake Ontario while offering day use and overnight facilities. The most prominent feature of the park is the bluff area at the west end known as Devil's Nose. Picnicking, camping, fishing, hiking or biking on over 10 miles of trails and visiting the environmental education center are several other pastimes.

Hamlin Beach State Park
- Hamlin Beach State Park's clear water, sandy beaches and 264 tent and trailer campsites bring thousands of visitors to the park each year. The environmental education center in the Yanty Creek Marsh area at the east end of the park has a mile long self-guided nature trail. In addition, there are 10 miles of hiking and biking trails, as well as snowmobile and cross-country skiing trails. Visitors can launch cartop boats, fish for salmon and trout and enjoy the picnic facilities. The most prominent feature of the park is the bluff area at the west end known as Devil's Nose. Because of dangerous conditions, it is a restricted area, but it remains a landmark for sailors as they pass to the north.
Recreation - Hamlin Beach State Park offers a wonderful expansive swimming beach, a boat launch, bike trail, fishing opportunities, individual and group camping, hiking trails and a nature trail, picnic pavilions, picnic tables, children's playground, recreation programs and winter sports including cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Campsites are available early May through Columbus Day. Daily hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Climate - The Hamlin Beach area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region averages less than 36 inches of rain and snowmelt.
Hamlin Beach State Park is located along Lake Ontario State Parkway, 25 miles west of Rochester.
