General Information

Description - Hunt's Pond State Park is located in the Central Travel Region several miles off SR 8. The woodland park sits on the tiny Hunt Pond which offers a boat launch and several primitive campsites. Several more developed state parks are a short drive away as well as several golf courses. Hunt's Pond attracts hunters to its land.

Attractions - Hunt's Pond State Park rests several miles off SR 8 below the small burg of New Berlin. The pond attracts hunters, anglers, primitive campers and winter sport enthusiasts. There are no developed hiking trails. The park is open year-round.

Recreation - Hunting, primitive camping, picnicking, fishing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are enjoyed at this small park. A boat launch is available to visitors.

Climate - The Hunts Pond State Park area experiences average January temperatures from 18 degrees to above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (-8 to above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from 36 inches to more than 44 inches of rain and snowmelt. The heaviest precipitation is received in the region's northeast segment.

Location - Hunt's Pond State Park is located along Hunt Road several miles southeast off SR 8, New Berlin.
