Description - Lakeside Beach State Park is located along the rocky shores of Lake Ontario. Surrounded by agriculture fields, this park does not provide an opportunity to swim yet it does offer camping, picnicking, hiking and more.
- Lakeside Beach State Park offers an outstanding panoramic view of Lake Ontario and surrounding farms and fruit orchards. No swimming is allowed, but 274 campsites, four miles of hiking and biking trails, fishing along the lake front, picnic grounds and play fields bring thousands to the park. Winter activities include hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.
Recreation - Lakeside Beach State Park offers biking, hiking, fishing, hunting waterfowl, picnicking, play fields, recreation programs, camping, showers, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Camping season runs from late April to late October.
Climate - The Lakeside Beach area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region averages less than 36 inches of rain and snowmelt.
Lakeside Beach State Park is located along Lake Ontario State Parkway, 40 miles west of Rochester.
