Report: I have been camping at Lake Taghkanic many times over the years with my family, in cabins and at tent sites, in Summer, Spring and Fall, and have never been disappointed. It is a comfortable drive from NYC. The scenery is breath taking. The cabins are comfortable and convenient, yet retain their rustic charm. Very early or very late in the season, you practically have the campgrounds to yourself. The rangers are always friendly and helpful.
