Description - Lake Superior State Park is located along the shores of the lake bearing the same name, this state park is popular with anglers, picnickers, swimmers and hunters. The park offers easy access southwest of Monticello off SR 17B. Hunting grounds are open in the fall during white-tailed deer and wild turkey season.

Recreation - Fishing, picnicking, swimming and hunting are enjoyed at this small state park. The park is open each year from late May through Labor Day, 9:00 a.m. to dusk.

Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from 40 to more than 44 inches of rain and snowmelt. The central Catskills receive the highest precipitation.
