Long Point State Park - Finger Lakes
Description - Located 4 miles south of Aurora off SR 90 and Lake Road, this eastern shore park offers day use amenities for boating, fishing, swimming and picnicking.

Attractions - Cayuga Lake is referred to as the centerpiece of the Finger Lakes. This particular lake stretches nearly forty miles to its northern outlet at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. It is the longest, widest and has the largest drainage basin of the eleven Finger Lakes. This popular recreation lake is a haven for sailors, powerboats, wind surfers and anglers. Fishermen enjoy catching Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout, brown trout and lake trout.

Recreation - This park offers visitors an opportunity to launch a boat onto the magnificent Cayuga Lake which offers endless opportunity for water-oriented enjoyment. A swimming beach, picnic area and children's playground at this site. Deer, small game and waterfowl hunting is permitted in season.

Climate - The Long Point State Park area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). It is important to note that this area receives some of the heaviest snowfalls in the nation. Summer temperatures average around 72 degrees Fahrenheit (around 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from less than 36 inches to approximately 40 inches of rain and snowmelt.

Location - Located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake, Long Point State Park is easily accessed along Lake Road which runs east off SR 90, 4 miles south of Aurora.
