Report: It was a blustery, sunny day, and Riverbank State Park was filled with people -- and yet it seemed as if there was room for plenty more. The walk around the park is flat, easy, a few ramps, all wheelchair accessible and breathtaking views of the Hudson. Enjoyed watching soccer players, baskeball, tennis and kids galore. As a veteran New Yorker, I can say that its unusual to see a place with such a surfeit of good -- good facilities, good vibes, good people. The Parks people were very nice, as I took the opportunity to tour the fitness room, pool and indoor gym. Landscaping designed so that everyplace felt safe and open -- no danger spots typical in city parks. A resource well worth checking out for the intrepid New Yorker. If you want classes for kids, be sure to get there early -- classes were closed on May 10 for the summer. The only downside -- finding out what's going on there. They could use a good outreach source, website, etc.
