Roberto Clemente State Park
Description - The Roberto Clemente State Park is located at West Tremont Avenue and Matthewson Road in the Bronx. This park is a tribute to the baseball legend, Roberto Clemente (1934-1972) who won fame for his fielding, throwing and hitting. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and lead them to World Series Victories in 1960 and 1971. He was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico and died in a place crash off the coast of Puerto Rico while delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. The amenities at this urban park include gymnasium, picnic grove, playground, play fields, swimming pool and recreation program.

Attractions - Roberto Clemente State Park is located along the Harlem River in the Bronx. The park offers a variety of recreational and cultural activities for children, youth, adults, senior citizens and the disabled. Facilities include a multipurpose recreation building, an Olympic-sized pool complex, playgrounds, court game area, a ball field, sitting areas and a waterfront promenade.

Recreation - Roberto Clemente's amenities are all handicapped accessible with the exception of the bike path. The amenities at this urban park include gymnasium, picnic grove, playground, play fields, swimming pool and recreation program.

Climate - This area experiences average January temperatures above 22 degrees Fahrenheit (above -6 degrees Celsius). Summer temperatures average above 72 degrees Fahrenheit (above 22 degrees Celsius). Precipitation in the region ranges from 40 to 44 inches of rain and snowmelt.
