General Information

Description - Bully Creek Reservoir is located ten miles west of Vale, Oregon. It was constructed by the Bureau of Reclamation in 1963 and is operated by the Vale Oregon Irrigation District. When full it covers 1000 acres and holds 30,000 acre feet of water. It supports crappy, largemouth bass, bluegill and yellow perch fish population.

Attractions - This park is operated and maintained by Malheur County since 1966, and it consists of 40 campsites all with electrical hookups, two with A.D.A. accessibility, three restrooms with showers, two covered shelters. A day use area with two covered shelters and restrooms. A concrete two-lane boat ramp with a dock, a caretaker who lives on the site. The camp and day use areas have about 14 acres of lawn and trees. The camping fees are $10.00 per sleeping unity per night for all campsites. The park operated from April 1st through November 15th (weather permitting). Climate - Eastern Oregon is generally high desert broken by several mountain ranges. Annual precipitation accumulates to less than 10 inches except for in the mountain ranges which receive higher amounts of winter snow and summer rain. Eastern Oregon experiences much greater temperature extremes than Western Oregon. Summer temperatures often reach 90 degrees F at the lower elevations and winter temperatures commonly drop well below freezing.

Location - Bully Creek Reservoir is located in the eastern portion of the state just 10 miles west of Vale off Graham Blvd.

Report: We just returned yesterday from a week-long getaway to this park. We brought our kayaks along, and had some very relaxing paddles on the reservoir. We love the fact that the campsites are not spaced so tightly next to each other. It was a most relaxing week; and we appreciate the help from the lady in the office (as we borrowed her hose), as well as the caretaker, who kept the grounds immaculate. We must say....the Sage Rats were amusing at times, even tho they are hole diggers!!!

Report: I was just looking around and noticed that you need an update. I am the caretakers granddaughter at Bully Creek Park (Campground). We now charge $15.00 a night per sleeping unit. A sleeping unit includes a car, tent, camptrailor, ect. We have 40 campsites all with electrical hookup-20, 30, and 50 amp, and they will accomidate a camptrailor up to 40 feet. We have showers available to the paying campers. For those of you that have stopped by thank you so much. We really enjoy seeing you.

Report: Easy to find turns well marked. No place on site to eat everything in Vale. Spring early summer best, irrigation dam, level drops through season. Great place! Phone # wrong good # is 541-473-2969
