General Information

Description - Hyatt Reservoir and Hyatt Dam are major features of the Rogue River Project. Hyatt Reservoir is surrounded by the pine and fir forests of the Cascade Mountains and is near Ashland, Oregon. The reservoir is 880 water surface acres and has 6 miles of shoreline. Available species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and brook trout. Fishing season runs from late April through October.

Attractions - Recreation on this 880-acre reservoir is located 15 miles east of Ashland, north of Oregon 66. Available species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and brook trout. Fishing season runs from late April through October.

Recreation - Recreational activities on Hyatt Reservoir include boating, camping, fishing, hunting, picnicking, and water sports. Available species include rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and brook trout. Fishing season runs from late April through October. Hyatt Lake is just south of Howard Prairie Lake Recreation Area.

Climate - The climate in Oregon varies greatly by region. The coastal region and the regions west of the Cascade Range are generally temperate and wet. Temperatures in the western portion of the state rarely rise above 85 degrees F during the warmest months and rarely dip below freezing during the winter.

Location - Hyatt Reservoir is located 15 miles east of Ashland, north of Oregon 66. This lake is just south of Howard Prairie Lake Recreation Area.
