General Information

Description - Geisel Monument is the historic site of a Rogue Indian war skirmish. Services include; picnicking, historic resources and interpretive signs. There is no fee to use this park. For information, call (800) 551-6949.

Attractions - The park contains the grave sites of the Geisel family. A peaceful, secluded picnic area to stop and rest while traveling along Highway 101.

Recreation - Geisel Monument offers picnicking and viewing of interpretive exhibits.

Climate - The Oregon coast receives abundant rainfall, mostly between October and April. July and August bring the best chance for clear days. Summer temperatures are normally moderate and almost never hot. Winter temperatures are normally cool at the lower elevations and cold at the higher elevations. Although snow is possible in the lowest elevations, it is infrequent and does not stay on the ground for long.

Location - Geisel Monument is located on Oregon's South Coast, along U.S. Highway 101, 7 miles north of Gold Beach.
