Description - The area around W.B. Nelson is known for abundant waterfowl. Adjacent to the Alsea River, there's a scenic wetland area.
- W.B. Nelson provides a small freshwater lake and fishing dock. Bass and stocked pan-sized trout are the most common fish. A free fishing day is held every year in May.

Recreation - W.B. Nelson provides opportunities for fishing, picnicking, swimming, hiking, viewing marine wildlife, and bird watching.
Climate - The Oregon coast receives abundant rainfall, mostly between October and April. July and August bring the best chance for clear days. Summer temperatures are normally moderate and almost never hot. Winter temperatures are normally cool at the lower elevations and cold at the higher elevations. Although snow is possible in the lowest elevations, it is infrequent and does not stay on the ground for long.
This park is located along Oregon's Central Coast, off OR 34, 1 mile east of Waldport.
