Denton Hill State Park
Description - Denton Hill State Park is known for its wonderful downhill skiing. The park is located in the beautiful mountainous region of Potter County in northern Pennsylvania. The lower elevations are approximately 750 feet along the Nine Mile Run River with elevations rising to 1,350 feet. The primary activity at this park is the downhill skiing offered through a private company. The company also offers a ski school, a ski shop, rentals, cafeteria and lounge.

Attractions - Denton Hill State Park is known for its wonderful downhill skiing. The park is located in the beautiful mountainous region of Potter County in northern Pennsylvania. The lower elevations are approximately 750 feet along the Nine Mile Run River with elevations rising to 1,350 feet. The primary activity at this park is the downhill skiing offered through a private company.

The park is a beautiful spruce forest environment that provides a wonderful habitat for bobcat, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, fox and black beer.

The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum is located just north of the park for those interested in history of the local area.

Recreation - The Denton Hill State Park offers skiing through a private company known as Ski Denton. They offer 3 Poma lifts and 1 chairlift with combined uphill capacity of 3,150 skiers per hour. There are cross-country trails offered as well. The difficulty of the slopes is broken down into thirds with 1/3 designed for beginners, 1/3 for intermediate skiers and 1/3 for advanced skiers. The company also offers a ski school, a ski shop, rentals, cafeteria and lounge.

Climate - Pennsylvania generally has a moist climate with cold winters and warm summers. The Denton Hill State Park area has cold winter months with temperatures averaging around 22 degrees Fahrenheit (-6 degrees Celsius). The area's average summer temperatures range around 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 Celsius). Precautions should be made when traveling this snowy area in the winter.

Location - Denton Hill State Park is located in Potter County in the north central area of the state. The park is about 10 - 12 miles west on US 6 from Galeton and about 10 - 12 miles east of Coudersport.
