Laurel Mountain State Park
Description - Laurel Mountain State Park encompasses 493 acres at which a private ski company offers exciting mountain biking and cross-country ski trails. They also offer a snowboarding park and the famous Lower Wildcat slope. This is a private - public enterprise between The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Laurel Mountain Ski Resort. The park works jointly with a private ski resort in providing a new lodge, state-of-the-art snowmaking machinery, quad chair lift, half-pipe snowboarding park, snow tubing run, rental facility and ski shop. Mountain biking is offered during the warmer months.

Recreation - This beautiful woodland area is a brand new facility as of 1999. The park works jointly with a private ski resort in providing a new lodge, state-of-the-art snowmaking machinery, quad chair lift, half-pipe snowboarding park, snow tubing run, rental facility and ski shop.

Mountain biking is offered during the warmer months.

Climate - Pennsylvania generally has a moist climate with cold winters and warm summers. The Laurel Mountain State Park area has cold winter months with temperatures averaging around 24 to 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-4 to -2 degrees Celsius). The area's average summer temperatures range around 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit (20 to 22 Celsius).

Location - Laurel Mountain State Park is comprised of 493 acres in Westmoreland County located in the southern area of the state. To reach the park go eight miles east of Ligonier or five miles west of Jennerstown on US 30, then turn south on Laurel Summit Road and travel for two miles.
