Description - Marsh Creek State Park is an integral part of the development of water resources in the Brandywine Creek Watershed which drains 330 square miles, most of which are in Chester County. A detailed record of storms extending back to 1920 indicated frequent flooding in the watershed. Other major problems included water shortages and lack of recreational opportunities for nearby population centers.Today, the park offers a limited number of recreation opportunities serving the surrounding communities. The park offers fishing, boating and picnicking in addition to a 6 mile horse trail and a large swimming pool open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Approximately 900 acres of Marsh Creek State Park are open to hunting, trapping and the training of dogs during established seasons. Common game species are rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, waterfowl and deer.

Recreation - Marsh Creek State Park has a limited number of outdoor recreation opportunities. The park offers fishing, boating and picnicking in addition to a 6 mile horse trail and a large swimming pool open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Approximately 900 acres of Marsh Creek State Park are open to hunting, trapping and the training of dogs during established seasons. Common game species are rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, waterfowl and deer. Hunting woodchucks, also known as groundhogs, is prohibited. Dog training is only permitted from the day following Labor Day to March 31 in designated hunting areas. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Game Commission rules and regulations apply. Climate - Pennsylvania generally has a moist climate with cold winters and warm summers. The Marsh Creek State Park area has cold winter months with temperatures averaging above 28 degrees Fahrenheit (above -2 degrees Celsius). The park is located in southeastern Pennsylvania, approximately 2 miles west of the village of Eagle on PA Route 100. Access to the park from the Pennsylvania Turnpike and points south and north is via PA Route 100 to Eagle where signs direct the visitor to the park. Non-turnpike access from the west is via U.S. Route 322 and PA Route 282 north from Downingtown.
