Description - Tuscarora State Park is in the area known locally as "Locust Valley," which was spared the ravages of the coal operations that once were the mainstay of area industry. The lake offers bass, muskellunge, walleye, pickerel, catfish, yellow perch and sunfish. Trout also inhabit the lake and are stocked in the fall for the ice fishing season. During the summer season, the boat launch area is open 24 hours a day for the convenience of fishermen. A guarded beach is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day, unless posted otherwise. A food and refreshment concession is located nearby. Over 250 picnic tables are available for year-round use. Eighty-two percent of the park is open to hunting, trapping and the training of dogs is permitted during designated seasons.
