General Information

Description - Scenic rolling hills, wide expanses of prairie, and one of the most outstanding vistas along the Missouri River await those who love the outdoors. Spend a day, a weekend or week relaxing in this quiet, scenic, almost wilderness area. The miles of sandy beach invite park visitors to play in the water, enjoy a volleyball game, try some shore fishing and walk near the river wave.

Lake Oahe Reservoir, located on the Missouri River, provides hours of outdoor fun. The lake has more than 2,000 miles of shoreline and its clear waters are ideal for boating, sailing, fishing, water skiing and diving. Campers, history buffs, mountain bikers and hikers will find new adventures in this rugged land first explored by Lewis and Clark.

Okobojo Point is one of the SD state parks along the Lewis and Clark Trail.

Attractions - Lake Oahe Reservoir, located on the Missouri River, provides hours of outdoor fun. Park entrance license required: $5/day/vehicle or $20 annually

Camping & Fees: $8/site. 17 sites (all non-electrical). Group camping loops. Showers. Water.

Recreation - Six picnic shelters. Miles of sandy beach to explore.

Swimming/Beaches: No designated swimming beach. No lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.

Fishing/Boating: Fish cleaning station at Cow Creek. Boat ramps. Fishing license required.

Location - 17 miles NW of Pierre off SD 1804
