General Information

Description - This information was provided by NEBRASKA GAME AND PARKS COMMISSION

Summit is a 190-acre Natural Resources District lake with 345 acres of land. This area offers boating, hiking, hunting, picnicking, trailer dump station and a swimming beach. There are 26 camper pads and an additional 32 non-designated campsites.

Visitors to Tekamah can visit the Burt County Museum.

The lake is at a full static water level . Both boat ramps are open and the catchable fish at this time are large mouth bass,blueguill,channel catfish,walleye, crappie were stocked in August 2005 as fingerlings.

Recreation - This area offers boating, hiking, hunting, picnicking, trailer dump station and a swimming beach.

Climate - Nebraska has a moderate climate with high humidity. The relative humidity in this state averages 70 percent throughout the year. Winter temperatures normally average between 20 and 45 degrees F. March brings warmer weather and temperatures above freezing for most of the month. Spring is in full swing by late April when temperatures often reach above 60 degrees F. Summer temperatures reach highs of 95 degrees F frequently, with warm weather continuing into mid September. Crisp fall weather truly begins in October when nighttime temperatures begin to dip into the low 40s. The wettest time of the year in this state is late spring through summer.

Location - Summit Lake from Tekamah: Take Highway 32 , 3 miles west turn south (left) on county road 31 for 1.6 miles. From Oakland NE Intersection Highway 32 & 77. Take highway 32 east 10.9 miles turn south (right) county road 31 and follow 1.6 miles
