Description
- This area, which is the largest essentially undeveloped tract on the Eastern seaboard, exceeds one million acres and is noted for its massive water resources with myriad marshes, bogs, ponds, and the dwarfed pines from which it gets its name. The reserve concept envisions close, cooperative preservation efforts among federal, state, and local governments and private property owners. Includes some state parks and forests. LIMITED PUBLIC FACILITIES.
