Report: We go to Broken Bow Lake (Steven's Gap) and Beaver's Bend several times every summer and sometimes we spend the night/weekend camping in our tent. It is a wonderful place that is nearby and convenient for us.

Report: I live nearby(60 miles) and I make it a point to spend some time there during the spring and summer. Great watersports and good fishing. Carson Creek area is where I like the best, it is a bit more peaceful. Bring your boat and spend some time fishing and just relaxing on the beautiful lake.

Report: Our first view of Broken Bow Lake was a breathtaking sight...clear blue water shimmering on mainly undeveloped, non-commercial shores. Just seeing the water cooled us off. Exhilarated from just having been on the hot and dusty Ouachita Trail for a few days camping just north of this pristine lake, we were tired and sore, so.... (instead of camping that nightat Broken Bow) we decided to stay in a Beaver's Bend Park cabin. We were extremely lucky upon arrival to get a cabin right on the river on the weekend after Memorial Day, without advance reservations. The cypress trees are glorious and graceful as they line the river and lake. Our cabin was homey, clean and comfortable with a terrific balcony and view all in the shade and directly above the river. After acquiring a trout permit, Richard did catch his limit by the dam. He also took advantage of using the fish cleaning station (something else new to us) in the campground. The programs and the folks at the Beaver's Bend Nature Center were the greatest. Visitors can handle the flying squirrels and snakes, and watch the training and feeding of captive, injured, rehabilitated and imprinted birds. We also camped out the next few days at Spencer Creek and had numerous raccoon visitors at night. (which we love!!) We couldn't believe it when a small ice cream truck came through the campground! That was a first, and being so hot that day, we were delighted to have a frosty treat! We also endulged in the train ride and hay ride at Beaver's Bend. We saw deer there and had lots of good old fashioned fun. Hochatown has a little internet cafe, and on the way back to Tulsa on Sunday we had a great lunch at the cafe in Honobia. Great BLT and Angel Fire burger. We look forward to coming back there to Broken Bow lake again soon!!
