Description - East Canyon State Park lies on the shores of 600-acre East Canyon Reservoir. The park lies in the mountains northeast of Salt Lake City. It is most popular for its boating and water sports, but visitors will also find camping and picnicking opportunities.

East Canyon State Park
- The facilities at this state park include a wide concrete launching ramp, paved parking
area, modern rest rooms, showers, fish cleaning station and 31-unit campground with a large overflow area. Two spacious, covered pavilions with electricity are available for groups. A concessionaire provides boat rentals and a refreshment stand during the summer.
Recreation - Fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming, camping and picnicking opportunities abound at East Canyon State Park. A 31-site campground is open to tents and RVs up to 35 feet in length. Campers are encouraged to make a reservation between the months of April and October. The park is open in the winter months with limited facilities.
Climate - East Canyon State Park lies in the eastern mountains of Utah at a moderate elevation, which makes for mild summers and cold winters. The area gets most of its precipitation in the form of winter snow and late summer thunderstorms. Like the rest of the state this area is relatively arid.
This state park lies in the Wasatch mountains northeast of Salt Lake City along Utah State Roads 65 and 66.
