Iron Mission State Park

Description - This state park consists of a visitor center and museum on 11 acres of land in Cedar City, Utah. The Iron Mission museum presents the cultural history of Iron County. This story includes Native American artifacts, Mormon pioneer relics and horse-drawn vehicles from the nineteenth century. In the 1850s, Brigham Young sent Mormon missionaries to the area to mine iron. This story is the focus of the exhibits within the museum.

- Iron Mission State Park facilities consist of a visitor center, museum and manicured grounds. Modern restrooms and picnicking facilities are maintained within the park, and drinking water is available.
Recreation - This state-administered site is open for day use only. Visitors will find opportunities for viewing historical artifacts and interpretive exhibits, as well as picnicking. In the public lands nearby opportunities for off-road vehicle use, hiking, biking and winter sports are available. Climate - Southwestern Utah, like other regions of the state, is arid, receiving approximately 12 inches of rain per year. The fall and spring are the most pleasant times to visit Iron Mission State Museum with warm days and cool nights. Summer brings very hot days and visitors are encouraged to curb activities during the afternoons. In winter expect warm days and very cold nights. Location -
Iron Mission State Museum lies within the limits of Cedar City, Utah. It is accessible from Interstate 15.
