Description - Wasatch Mountain State Park, in beautiful Heber Valley, is Utah's most developed state park. Tucked away in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, the park is both a summer and winter wonderland. One of Utah's finest 27-hole golf courses is found here amidst many other recreation facilities. The park is just minutes away from the winter and summer destination resort of Park City and Heber City and Midway.
Attractions
- Park facilities include 139 camping/picnicking areas, two group-use pavilions, modern rest rooms, hot showers and utility hookups. The chalet, a ranch-style building complete with kitchen facilities, is available for summer and winter group outings. Little Deer Creek campground is an excellent area for summer group parties and reunions. Camping is closed during winter months.
Recreation - In addition to golfing, Wasatch Mountain State Park is well known for camping, picnicking, hiking and horseback riding. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are popular winter activities within the park. Climate - Wasatch Mountain State Park lies in the Wasatch Mountains at an elevation of 6,000 feet. Like the rest of Utah, this area is relatively arid. Summers are pleasant with hot days and cool evenings. Spring and fall weather can vary dramatically, so be prepared for a variety of conditions with layers of clothing. Winter can be cold with snow. Much of the precipitation accumulated throughout the year occurs in this season. Dress in warm layers for winter, but bring sunscreen and sunglasses. A brimmed hat is essential in every season due to the high elevation of this site. Location -
Wasatch Mountain State Park is located in north central Utah on the eastern slope of the Wasatch Mountains. The park is a few miles west of Heber City and accessible from Utah State Road 224.
