General Information

Description - This is the site of a national memorial and burial place of Patrick Henry. On this site rests a museum, a reconstructed home and the original law office of the famous statesman and orator.

Recreation - Just minutes away is Brookneal Fish Hatchery. Due north approximately 50 miles is Appomattox Court House and National Historical Park.

Climate - Virginia generally has mild winters and warm humid summers. The eastern portion of the state has winter temperatures averaging above 36 degrees Fahrenheit (2 degrees Celsius). The state's summer temperatures have little variation. The eastern portion of Virginia generally experiences temperatures above 78 degrees Fahrenheit (26 Celsius). High humidity along with warm temperatures can be uncomfortable.

Location - To reach Red Hill, take US 501 southeast out of Lynchburg, Virginia for approximately 40-50 miles. You will reach the town of Brookneal. Take Rt. 40 east to Rt. 600. Follow Rt. 600 to signs for Red Hill.
