General Information

Description - Wolf Trap is the only national park for the performing arts. Performances are held at the Filene Center Memorial Day through Labor Day. The Filene Theater seats 4,000 under the roof and 3,000 on the lawn. There is also a theater in the wood performances for children in July and August. Backstage tours of the Filene Center are given by the National Park Service. (703)-225-1800, October through March. For Children's Interpretive Programs call (703) 225-1827 after May 1st.
Hours of Operation:
Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Recreation - Manassas National Battlefield Park, The Manassas Museum, Prince William Forest National Park, Mason Neck State Park and National Wildlife Refuge, Gunston Hall, George Washington's Grist Mill and Mt. Vernon are just a few of the visitor's opportunities in this historic yet busy part of Virginia.

Climate - Virginia generally has mild winters and warm humid summers. The central to northern portion of the state has winter temperatures averaging 34 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit (1 to 2 degrees Celsius). The state's summer temperatures have little variation. The central to northern portion of Virginia generally experiences temperatures ranging from 76 to above 78 degrees Fahrenheit (26 Celsius). High humidity along with warm temperatures can be uncomfortable.

Location - The park is located in northern Virginia, Fairfax County which is just south of Washington, D.C.
