Attractions - Dalles Mountain Ranch is a relatively new park whose property has two residences and an assortment of out buildings.

The acquisition of the 6,000-acre Dalles Mountain Ranch was made possible by the Trust For Public Land, a nonprofit land conservation organization, with state funding provided through the efforts of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition. The northern portion of the property, about 2,900 acres, is managed by DNR as the Columbia Hills Natural Area Preserve. State Parks manages the southern 3,100 acres, much of which adjoins Horsethief Lake State Park, providing a wide range of recreational opportunities and access to outstanding natural, cultural, and historical features.

Recreation - Currently, the only activity at the park is hiking, while other allowable activities are yet to be determined.

Climate - Influenced by the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains, this area is characterized by a generally wet and temperate climate. Winters are cool and cloudy with rain and some snow. Maximum winter temperatures are normally in the mid- to high 40s with minimum temperatures in the mid 30s. Summers are warm and relatively dry with maximum and minimum temperatures in the mid 70s and low 50s, respectively.

Location - The Dalles Mountain Ranch is located in Klickitat County, approximately 7 miles northeast of The Dalles, Oregon, and 17 miles southwest of Goldendale.
