General Information

Description - Central Ferry State Park covers 185 acres with 6,500 feet of shoreline on Lake Bryan. The park offers 60 trailer hookups, one camp host site, eight primitive sites, 48 picnic sites, seven picnic shelters, a bath house, handicap facilities, a trailer dump, 775 feet of unguarded beach, three docks, four launch ramps, two ski docks, one sewer dump station for boaters, one marine pump out station and an overnight group camp area.
In addition, evidence of basaltic lava flows, Pleistocene glaciation, and prehistoric mammals are found in the area.

Recreation - Activities at the park include beach combing, bird watching, boating, camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, swimming, and water skiing.

Climate - Washington's climate varies with each region. The Cascades split the state and alter weather patterns. Central Ferry State Park, located east of the mountains, receives significantly less rainfall than regions west of the mountains with an average annual precipitation of twelve inches.

Average summer temperatures are 94 degrees maximum and 50 degrees minimum. Because central Washington is landlocked and subject to winter winds, winter temperatures are much colder than those in western Washington.

Location - Central Ferry State Park, in southeast Washington, is located in Whitman County, 17 miles south of Dusty and 34 miles southwest of Colfax on State Highway 127.

Report: We enjoyed our stay at the Park. The weather was warm and very windy. The park was clean and uncrowded. It is rather isolated so one should bring their own entertainment. It is probably a great place to wind surf.
