General Information

Description - Doug's Beach is located in Klickitat County, seven miles west of Horsethief Lake State Park, near Lyle, Washington, on State Route 14. Covering approximately 240 feet of beach along the Columbia River, the park's main activities include windsurfing and fishing.

Attractions - Doug's Beach is located near the "friendly site" where Lewis and Clark made contact with native Americans. The beach has available portable toilets from April 1 through October 30.

Recreation - With approximately 240 feet of beach access along the Columbia River, the main activities include windsurfing and fishing.

Climate - Influenced by the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains, this area is characterized by a generally wet and temperate climate. Winters are cool and cloudy with rain and some snow. Maximum winter temperatures are normally in the mid- to high 40s with minimum temperatures in the mid 30s. Summers are warm and relatively dry with maximum and minimum temperatures in the mid 70s and low 50s, respectively.
