General Information

Description - Lake Cushman State Park covers 603 acres with three boat-launch ramps on the 41,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on Lake Cushman.

Park facilities include parking for 106 vehicles, 50 tent sites, 30 trailer sites, two primitive sites, a group camping area with a 60-person group shelter, 40 picnic sites, a picnic shelter and three comfort stations.

This park is part of the Washington State Parks Reservation System.

Recreation - Park visitors enjoy picnicking, boating, water skiing, hiking, camping and fishing.

Climate - The climate in this area is influenced by both the Olympic Mountains and the bodies of water that surround the Olympic Peninsula. It is generally a marine climate, mild and temperate, with the Pacific Ocean moderating temperatures throughout the year.

Winters are cool and cloudy with rain and some snow. Maximum winter temperatures are in the mid- to high 40s with minimum temperatures in the mid 30s. Summers are warm and relatively dry with maximum and minimum temperatures in the mid 70s and low 50s, respectively. This area averages 51 inches of precipitation per year.

Location - Lake Cushman State Park is located seven miles northwest of Hoodsport, along Lake Cushman Road in Mason County.

Report: Great For large groups. Tranquil for it's size. Nice camp sites, views, water recreation. A nice little Mom & Pop store where you can get ice to motor-oil. If I ever get the chance to go there again I will, it was a very relaxing weekend. 9-11 Aug. 2002.
