General Information

Description - Lyons Ferry State Park covers 1,282 acres (including Marmes Rock Shelter Heritage Area) with 52,000 feet of freshwater shoreline on the Snake River. The park offers 50 standard campsites (no hookups), 21 picnic sites, six picnic shelters, two primitive sites, a trailer dump station, a bathhouse, two launch ramps, 428 feet of unguarded beach, a storage shed, and a shop.

Recreation - Activities at the park include boating, camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, swimming and water skiing.

Climate - Washington's climate varies with each region. The Cascades split the state and alter weather patterns. Lyons Ferry State Park, located east of the mountains, receives significantly less rainfall than regions west of the mountains with an average annual precipitation of twelve inches.

Average summer temperatures are 94 degrees maximum and 50 degrees minimum. Because central Washington is landlocked and subject to winter winds, winter temperatures are much colder than those in western Washington.

Location - Lyons Ferry State Park, in southeast Washington, is located in Franklin County, 23 miles southeast of Washtucna at the confluence of the Palouse and Snake Rivers on State Highway 261.
