General Information

Description - Ocean City State Park contains 169.8 acres, plus accreted lands with 2,980 feet of saltwater shoreline on the Pacific Ocean. The park offers four restrooms, 10 picnic tables, two log picnic shelters with two tables each, a Group Camp with a log shelter (accommodates a maximum of 40 people camping in tents), 29 utility camp sites (one is ADA accessible), 149 standard campsites (one is ADA accessible), three primitive non-vehicular campsites, one trailer dump, one winter water supply, 100 extra vehicle/day use parking stalls, and a 3-bay shop.
Of special interest is the historical availability of razor clam made this an important destination for the seasonal digging periods.

Recreation - Activities at the park include camping, picnicking, clamming, fishing, horseback riding, kite flying, surfing, beach combing, bird watching, and mushroom picking.

Climate - Washington's climate varies with each region. The Cascades split the state and alter weather patterns. Western Washington is temperate, due to the coastal geography. The water is a stabilizing force for the climate, making extreme temperatures rare. The area receives large amounts of rainfall from Pacific storms and some snow during winter months.

Location - Ocean City State Park, in south coastal Washington, is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Grays Harbor County, 16 miles west of Hoquiam, and 1 1/2 mile north of Ocean Shores on State Route 115.

Report: (Went using an RV Camper Trailer and utilized a full hook-up camp site) Visited this park in April of 2008 and enjoyed it very much. The sites with full hook ups are close together but everyone was very friendly who were near us. Reservations were a must even this time of the year. Staff were fun to talk to and even a bit entertaining. In general the park was well maintained. The beaches were the main attraction and you can drive your vehicle on it via the public access area a few miles away. There was a nearby tribal casino but as a non-smoker I couldn't tolerate it long. No mountain hiking or any kind of elevation to walk through but walking in the sand gives one some good exercise. The greatest negative was the terrible taste of the water which is pretty consistent with all other WA State Parks I have been to except for Dossiwallips which had delicious tasting water. I would love to visit this park again!
