Recreation - The recreational riverboat, Hiawatha is a modern paddle wheeler that offers river excursions May through October. For more information on the Hiawatha Riverboat, call 570-326-2500. Tiadaghton State Forest is south of the park and it offers rifle range, hunting, fishing and hiking opportunities. Climate - Pennsylvania generally has a moist climate with cold winters and warm summers. The Susquehanna State Park area has cold winter months with temperatures averaging around 24 to 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-4 to -2 degrees Celsius).
