Description - The reservoir is on the Little Truckee River, 27 miles southwest of Reno, Nevada. Open year-round (frozen during winter). A surface area of approximately 980 acres at full reservoir storage. Fishing season is year-round, with ice fishing during the winter. Available species include kokanee salmon, rainbow, brook, and brown trout. Access by paved road. Handicap access ramp with platforms for fishing opportunities when the reservoir level is high enough.

Attractions - Fishing is available in the Boca Reservoir and the Truckee River that feeds it. Camping is offer at the Boca Rest Campground and the Boca Spring Campground.

Recreation - Boca Reservoir offer fishing, boating, swimming, camping and picnicking. Boca Boat Ramp provides boating access to the reservoir.

Climate - The Tahoe generally experiences warm, dry summers and cold, wet winters. Weather can change rapidly during all seasons of the year. A snow pack from 5-10 feet or more is usually present from December to May at elevations above 6,500 feet. Winter temperatures below zero and summer temperatures above 100 degrees indicate the normal seasonal spread. Clouds can build up during the summer to produce spectacular thunderstorm activity. It is wise to pack for any season with clothing that can be "layered", ready to peel off or add on as the thermometer dictates. Always include some kind of rain gear.

Location - Boca Reservoir is located in the eastern region of the Truckee Ranger District in the Tahoe National Forest. It is located approximately 4 mile northeast of Truckee.
