Description - Colorado National Monument preserves one of the grand landscapes of the American West. Sheer-walled canyons, towering monoliths, colorful formations, desert bighorn sheep, soaring eagles, remains of prehistoric Indian cultures and a spectacular road reflect the environment and history of the plateau-and-canyon country

Attractions - Located within Colorado National Monument's 32 square miles is a fascinating landscape of deep canyons and soaring cliffs. Colorado National Monument is a little-known treasure full of surprises, and offers an interesting array of activities for visitors of all abilities and interests. Hiking, sightseeing and bicycling are just a few of the exciting choices awaiting visitors.

Recreation - Popular activities at the Monument include hiking, sight seeing, camping, biking, picnicking, bird watching, and climbing.

Climate - Weather at Colorado National Monument is represented by desert, semi-desert, and upland climates. Annual precipitation averages 11.03 inches.

Location - The Colorado National Monument is located in western Colorado, just west of Grand Junction. The east entrance is accessed from the I-70 Horizon Drive exit in Grand Junction. The west entrance is accessed from I-70 exit 19 in Fruita.
