The Beaver Creek Trail climbs to 11,300' before dripping down into the Middle St. Varian drainage. This trail is very crowded.
Beaver Meadows Trail Clear Creek Ranger District,

This trail begins west of Evergreen in the Mount Evans State Wildlife Area. It leads into the Mount Evans Wilderness and intersects the Beartracks Trail.
Bluebell-Baird Trail Boulder Open Space,

Bluebell-Baird Trail crosses beneath the first Flatiron and connects the Chautaugua Trail to the Gregory Canyon Trailhead.
Bluebird Lake Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This is a long hike to a scenic lake. It begins at the Wild Basin Trailhead and leads past Copeland Falls, Calypso Cascades, Ouzel Falls and Ouzel Lake on the way to Bluebird Lake.

Calypso Cascades Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This is a short, easy hike on the southeast side of the park. It leads from the Wild Basin Trailhead past Copeland Falls reaching the roaring Calypso Cascades.

The Cascade Creek Trail, #1, is located east of Granby and Monarch Lake. It is one of the most heavily used trails in the Indian Peaks Wilderness.
Chasm Falls Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This is a winter route up the lower end of Old Fall River Road, open for hiking while the road is closed during the winter months.

This is a fairly short hike that passes through a spruce-fir forest up to the alpine tundra. Once on top you can see Mt. Evans, Pikes Peak, Longs Peak & Denver.

This trail begins at Fall River Reservoir, northwest of Idaho Springs, and leads to Sherwin Lake.

Cub Lake Trail Rocky Mountain National Park A park favorite, this hike to a mountain pond travels through woods that blaze with color in the fall. It is often accessible for hiking year-round.
Dakota Ridge Trail Boulder Open Space,

The Dakota Ridge Trail follows the Dakota Ridge line north/south one mile. It can be accessed from the Mount Sanitas Trailhead.
Deer Mountain Trail Rocky Mountain National Park Fine views, pleasant hiking and a picnic on top make this trip a hiking favorite on the east side of the park.
Devils Thumb Lake Trail Boulder Ranger District,
Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests
This trail follows an old road out of Hessie and provides access to Woodland Lake Trail, Jasper Lake, Devils thumb Lake and Devils Thumb Pass.
Diamond Lake Trail Boulder Ranger District,

This trail starts at the road closure at Buckingham Park and loops over a high ridge separating the North Fork Middle Boulder Creek/Jasper Creek drainage to reach Diamond Lake.
East Inlet Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This trail begins near Grand Lake and leads past Adams Falls, Lone Pine Lake, Lake Verna and Spirit Lake.

Eldorado Canyon State Park lies in central Colorado where the plains meet the mountains. It is located less that 30 miles from Boulder and Denver.
Fern Lake Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This trail begins at the end of Moraine Park Road and leads to The Pool, at the confluences of Spruce and Fern Creeks with the Big Thompson River. It is a good winter hike.
Fern Lake Trail (Winter) Rocky Mountain National Park This trail begins at the end of Moraine Park Road and leads past The Pool, then on to Fern Falls, Fern Lake and Odessa Lake.
Flattop Mountain Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This trail begins at the Bear Lake Trailhead. Panoramic views and access to many other great peaks lure hikers up this mountain in the middle of the park.
Gem Lake Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This trail leads from Twin Owls Trailhead north of Estes Park, to Gem Lake, cradled high among the rounded granite domes of Lumpy Ridge. It is a good year-round hike.
Glacier Gorge Trail (to Alberta Falls) Rocky Mountain National Park This trail leads past Alberta Falls, Glacier Falls, Mills Lake and Ribbon Falls before ending at Black Lake. The beautiful view from Mills Lake is one of the park's finest.

The Grays Peak Trail is located west of Georgetown and south of Bakersville. A person can climb Grays and Torreys Peaks, two 14,000 foot peaks, in one day.
Greenman Trail Boulder Open Space,

The Greenman Trail leads south 1.4 miles from the Ranger Trail to the summit of Green Mountain.
Gregory Canyon Trail Boulder Open Space,

Gregory Canyon Trail leads west from the trailhead through Gregory Canyon. It splits into the Long Canyon Trail, right fork, and the Ranger Trail, left fork after 1.1 miles.

This is a moderately easy hike into a rugged area about 10 miles west of Idaho Springs.

The High Lonesome Trail is located northeast of Fraser. It leads from the Monarch Lake area to Devils Thumb Pass. It can be accessed at various points.

The St. Varian Mountain Trail is very steep and little water is available. It crosses through Rocky Mountain National park near St. Varian Mountain.
Sundance Mountain Trail Rocky Mountain National Park The high altitude walk to this summit begins on Trail Ridge Road between Forest Canyon Overlook and Rock Cut. It leads out to Sundance Mountain.
Timber Lake Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This trail on the west side of the park begins off Highway 34 in the Kawuneeche Valley. It is a strenuous 4.8 mile hike up to Timber Lake.
Timberline Falls Trail Rocky Mountain National Park This trail begins at Glacier Gorge Junction. Scenic Loch Vale is enjoyed while on your way to the beautiful Timberline Falls. The trail continues to Lake of Glass and Sky Pond.
Twin Sister Peaks Trail Rocky Mountain National Park These two peaks sit off by themselves to the east of the park, offering outstanding vistas sweeping in all directions.
Upper Beaver Meadows Trail Rocky Mountain National Park Upper Beaver Meadows is located on the east side of the park. A trail leads parallel to the Beaver Meadows Road, to the south of Beaver Creek for about two miles.
