Animas Overlook Interpretive Site Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
A leisurely walk will take you along an interpretive trail to nine information signs, with topics including history, geology, wildlife, archaeology, ecology, and forest management.
Dry Fork Trail Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
The trail is popular for hikers, mountain bikers, and horse riders. The trail leads into the Colorado Trail and provides a panoramic view at Gudy's Rest (a few hundred yards off of Dry Fork Trail).
East Creek Trail Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
Brook trout can be caught in this lightly used, scenic drainage.
East Lime Creek General Forest Area Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are popular in this area and there are a number of well-marked trails for winter sports enthusiasts.
East Lime Creek Group Picnic Ground Columbine Ranger District,

East Lime Creek Picnic Ground is just south of Molas Pass adjacent to U.S. Highway 550. With two tables and toilets, the picnic ground is a convenient rest stop for travelers.
Graham Creek Campground Columbine Ranger District,

About two miles north of Old Timers Campground is Graham Creek Campground, with 25 sites and a rough, natural-surface boat ramp. The hillside sites are about 100 yards from the high-water line, and offer a choice of sun or shade.
Hermosa Creek Trail Columbine Ranger District,

Renowned among mountain bikers, this trail offers a lengthy trip back to Hermosa, mostly paralleling the creek, with great side hikes and loop trips. This trail is also used by hikers, horses, motorcycles and ATVs.
Junction Creek Campground Columbine Ranger District,

Junction Creek Campground is a good base camp for Durango activities. The campground is on a south-facing hillside a small distance above Junction Creek.
Kennebec Pass Scenic Drive Columbine Ranger District,

Kennebec Pass ends at almost 12,000 feet. The last 3 miles are 4 WD only, but the walk to the top is well worth the view.
Kennebec Pass-Junction Creek Road Trail Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
This is a popular mountain bike loop near Durango which starting at Mayday, makes for a difficult workout. Alternatively, one can begin at Kennebec Pass which makes a long downhill run with most of the route on gravel road.
Lion's Den Trail Durango Area,

The trail climbs up switchbacks to Lion's Den, a log and stone structure built in the 1930's, which offers great views (including an overlook of Durango).
Miller Creek Picnic Ground Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
A footbridge leads across Miller Creek up the hillside toward the main road, to a shady roadside picnic area. This is the only picnic area on Lemon Reservoir.
North Canyon Trail Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
The trail takes you through ponderosa pine and aspen forests. A scenic overlook of Vallecito Reservoir is available on a side trail along the way.
Sig Creek Campground Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
Sig Creek Campground is six miles west of the Purgatory resort, on the Hermosa Park Road (Forest Road 578). Nine sites on four acres sit on a south-facing hillside about 0.25 mile from the East Fork of Hermosa Creek.
South Mineral Campground Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
South Mineral Campground is the last developed camping area along U.S. Highway 550 on the San Juan National Forest. The campground has 26 sites which are mostly level, at 9,800 feet.
Transfer Park Recreation Area Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
The Transfer Recreation Area includes a campground and picnic area.
