The Augusta Mine Trail begins on the Poverty Gulch Road and follows it to the abandoned mine site.

Browns Pass Trail #369 Taylor River Ranger District,

Browns Pass Trail leads from the Texas Creek Valley to Cottonwood Pass Road. The trail is approximately six miles long, most of it lies within the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.
Canon Hondo Trail Cebolla Ranger District,

This two mile hike offers a less traveled option than most hikes in the region, with lots of wildlife viewing opportunities. The entire Canon Hondo Trail lies within the La Garita Wilderness.
Canyon Creek - Horse Creek Loop Trail Cebolla Ranger District,

The Canyon Creek - Horseshoe Creek Loop is approximately 12.5 miles in length. A topographic map of the area is recommended for anyone attempting this hike.
Canyon Diablo Trail Cebolla Ranger District,

The Canyon Diablo Trail stems from Trail 465 along Cochetopa Creek. The entire trail lies within the boundaries of the La Garita Wilderness.

This trail provides access to the Powderhorn Wilderness, a high alpine tundra ecosystem with expansive views of the San Juan and La Garita Mountain Ranges. Herds of elk are a common sight at the upper end of the trail.
Castle Pass Trail #441 Taylor River Ranger District,

This is a difficult trail to access, because Castle Creek Road is private property. Castle Pass Trail leads west from Lowline Trail over Castle Pass to Cliff Creek Trail.
Cataract Lake Trail Cebolla Ranger District,

This trail delivers the traveler to Cataract Lake where fishing is reported to be good. The trail continues beyond the Continental Divide as Trail 822, West Lost Trail Creek Trail on the Rio Grande National Forest.
Cebolla Trail Cebolla Ranger District,

Cebolla Trail, 459, leads 18 miles east/west through the La Garita Wilderness. The entire trail lies above 10,000 feet so be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions.
Cedar Point Nature Trail Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Cedar Point Nature Trail is an easy, 2/3 mile round trip trail that takes leads to two overlooks offering views of the river and the famous Painted Wall.
Chasm View Nature Trail Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Chasm View Nature Trail is a moderate, 1/3 mile long trail located on the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
Coal Mesa Trail Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
The trail climbs from Soap Creek to West Elk Creek. It follows a ridge for a distance with excellent views.
Conundrum Trail #1981 Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
This trail lies within the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness and uses Copper Creek as an access to Conundrum Hot Springs.
Copper Creek Tail #1983 Taylor River Ranger District,

Copper Creek Trail, 1983, leads from the Judd Falls Trailhead near Gothic, north to East Maroon Pass. The entire length of this trail is located within the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness.
Costo Lake Trail #425 Taylor River Ranger District,

This trail accesses Costo Lake (fair fishing) in the West Elk Wilderness. The best way to access this trail is hiking north on Lowline or Mill Castle Trails.

This trail offers a direct route to the continental divide, but is closed to motorized vehicles.

This old jeep trail has been closed to motor vehicles. It offers access to the Big Blue Wilderness and fair fishing at Larson Lakes.
Daisy Pass Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

Daisy Pass trail heads southwest from Baxter Basin to Redwell Basin. The entire trail traverses through high, rugged terrain.
Deadhorse Trail Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Deadhorse Trail is located on the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This trail is an easy to moderate 5 mile hike round trip.
Devil's Backbone Route Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Devil's Backbone Route is located on the south side of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison near the East Portal. Trails in the inner canyon are not maintained or marked.

Doctor Park Trail provides an excellent day ride or hike. This is a multi-use trail and not the best to take if solitude is what you're seeking.
Double Top Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

Double Top Trail leads south from East Brush Creek Trail, 400, to Farris Creek Trail, 409. This trail combined with Brush Creek Road forms a popular mountain biking loop.

This trail provides access to the Big Blue Wilderness.
Farris Creek Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

Farris Creek Trail leads north and south for four miles to connect Brush Creek and Cement Creek.
Gold Creek Trail Cebolla Ranger District,

This trail provides access to Fairview Peak which rises to an elevation of 13,200 feet.

Gold Creek Trail connects Union Park Road and Gold Creek Campground. It leads through the eastern side of the Fossil Ridge Wilderness area.
Gunnison Route Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park The Gunnison Route begins at the South Rim Visitor Center. This trail is one mile one way. Trails into the inner canyon are not marked or maintained.
Gunsight Pass Road Taylor River Ranger District,

Gunsight Pass Road lies north of Crested Butte and can be accessed from Slate River Road. The road is passable for five miles to the Daisy Mine.
Henry Lake Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

The Henry Lake Trail, 429, stems from the South Lottis Creek Trail. It follows South Lottis Creek to its source Henry Lake.
Lake Fork Trail Cebolla Ranger District,

This steep trail offers access to the Continental Divide. The traveler can continue past the Continental Divide to Machin Lake.
Larson Lakes Trail Cebolla Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests

Long Draw Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Long Draw is a one mile one way hike. The trail begins on the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Trail into the canyon are not marked or maintained.

This trail takes the traveler to the Continental Divide and can be used to access Baldy Lake.

This trail goes through rugged terrain, but is one of the most scenic trails in the West Elk Wilderness.

North River Route Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
North Vista Trail Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park The North Vista Trail is located on the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This trail was constructed by volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, the North Vista Trail offers some of the best scenic views and birding in the Park.
Oak Flat Loop Trail Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Oak Flat Loop Trail is located near the Visitor Center of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. This trail offers the experience of the canyon without taking on the challenge of hiking to the river.
Oh-Be-Joyful Road #754 Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
This road provides access to Oh-Be-Joyful Creek and the Raggeds Wilderness.
Ohio Pass Falls Trail Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
The trail to Ohio Pass Falls is approximately one and a half miles, beginning on an abandoned jeep road. The falls are part of the Ohio Creek headwaters flowing from the eastern Anthracite Mountain Range.
Poverty Gulch Four-Wheel Drive Road Taylor River Ranger District,

Poverty Gulch Road is an abandoned mining road that leads northwest from Slate River Road to the Augusta Mine.
Powderhorn Lakes Trail #460 Cebolla Ranger District,

This trail delivers the traveler to a high alpine tundra ecosystem with expansive views of the San Juan and La Garita Mountains. Elk are commonly sighted.

This crowded trail provides access to the Big Blue Wilderness, Matterhorn Peak, Wetterhorn Peak and Uncompahgre Peak.
Rim Rock Nature Trail Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Rim Rock Nature Trail is is a short, self-guided nature trail that begins near the Campground on the south side of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
Rough Creek Trail #463 Cebolla Ranger District,

This trail provides a secondary access route into the La Garita Wilderness Area. Herds of deer and elk are often present.
S.O.B. Draw Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park S.O.B. Draw is located off of the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This trail accesses six campgrounds.
Schofield Pass Road # 317 Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
The section of Schofield Pass north of Schofield Park is equally beautiful and treacherous. This road should only be attempted by experienced drivers in short wheel-based vehicles.

The Silvanite Trail leads from Copper Creek to the abandoned Silvanite Mine site in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness.

This trail delivers the traveler to the Continental Divide. The streams provide good fishing and herds of deer and elk are often visible.
Slide Draw Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Slide Draw is located on the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This is a difficult route that leads to the Gunnison river.

Soap Basin Trail is a good trail to incorporate into your route for extended pack trips. It connects with several other trails within the West Elk Wilderness.
Soap Creek Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

Soap Creek Trail leads north from Soap Creek Trailhead nine miles to a junction with Soap Basin Trail. Most of the tread parallels Soap Creek. It is contained within the West Elk Wilderness.
South Lottis Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

South Lottis Trail extends north and south, through the Fossil Ridge Wilderness, for ten and a half miles. It leads from the South Lottis Trailhead to the Gold Creek Trailhead.
Star Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

The Star Trail is a multi-use trail that leads from Reno Divide to Rocky Brook Road northwest of Taylor Park Reservoir.
Stewart Creek Loop #470 Cebolla Ranger District,

This trail takes the traveler along Stewart Creek. Bighorn sheep, mule deer, and elk are often seen along the trail.
Summerville Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

This trail begins in Taylor Canyon, one mile below Lodgepole Campground. After entering the Fossil Ridge Wilderness, the trail climbs out of Summerville Creek connecting with the Fossil Ridge Trail, 431.

This lightly traveled trail follows the Continental Divide providing the traveler with expansive views.
Swampy Pass Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

Swampy Pass Trail is a good access to the West Elk Wilderness from the Ohio Creek Road. The trail is very scenic.
Texas Creek Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

The trail enters the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness and forks lead to Waterloo Gulch, Magdalene Gulch, South Texas Creek and Browns Pass. The area is characterized by old mine workings and alpine scenery.
Timberline Trail Taylor River Ranger District,

This trail follows the timberline directly beneath the Sawatch Range. Following the boundary of the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, the trail offers great views of Taylor Park.
Tomichi Route Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Tomichi Route is located on the south rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This trail starts from the Rim Rock Trail near the campground.
Twin Lakes Trail Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
Twin Lakes Trail leaves upper Brush Creek Road and enters the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. Twin Lakes lie at approximately 11,780 feet.
Uncompahgre Peak Trail #239 Cebolla Ranger District,

This trail serves as a major access route into the Big Blue Wilderness.
Warner Point Nature Trail Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Warner Point Nature Trail is located off of the High Point Overlook. This trail offers beautiful view of the Gunnison River and the Black Canyon.
Warner Route Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park The Warner Route is the longest route into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. There are 5 campsites located up and downstream.
Washington Gulch Trail Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
Washington Gulch Trail leads southeast from Gothic Road to Washington Gulch Road. This four and a half mile trail makes a short day hike if a car is available at each terminus.
Waterloo Trail Taylor River Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
Waterloo Gulch Trail leads north from Texas Creek, following a stream to the head of Waterloo Gulch and a small lake. This entire route lies within the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.
West Fork-Baldy Loop #490-491 Cebolla Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
These trails create a loop that takes the traveler to the Continental Divide. Fishing is available at Baldy Lake.
