Colorado River Colorado River,
Colorado Rivers & Streams
Although normally thought of as a destination for whitewater sport, the Colorado River can have exeptional fishing, and gets relatively little pressure.
Colorado-Lower River Section Colorado River,
Colorado Rivers & Streams
From Grizzly Creek to Rifle, the Colorado receives relatively light pressure. Floating is the best way to cover this water. This section of river has many different faces, from the high walls of Glenwood Canyon to wide open spaces surrounding the river past Glenwood Springs.
Colorado-Middle River Section Colorado River,
Colorado Rivers & Streams
Below the town of Kremmling the Colorado cuts through the spectacular Gore Canyon, dropping dramatically some 50 river miles until it meets the Eagle river at Dotsero. It's best to float the lower end of Gore Canyon, as there are seven good drift sections from Pump house to Dotsero. But this is not easy water to negotiate. Get a qualified guide if you want to drift the canyon.
Colorado-Upper River Section Colorado River,
Colorado Rivers & Streams
The Upper section of the Colorado from Hot Sulphur Springs to Kremmling and the Williams Fork is not as big and mighty as stretches farther downstream. In comparison this section probably fishes better than the others and there are plenty of State Wildlife access areas and parking. In all the Upper Section of the Colorado River is a great example of a large and long Western-type fishing stream.
